Spotting or Premenstrual blood? Idk.

Hi Everyone! I am kind of worried because my period is dated to start on April 23 but i have been bleeding lightly which started 7th of April. I consulted my OB about it but what he said is that it could just be premenstrual or it could also be just spotting. This is the first time that this happened to me. Can anyone shed light for me on this? I am a mom of 1 and he was born last 2017 of November. I don’t know if this would help. Thank you for the help if this can be seen.
