Vvvvf spotting 4 days before period

I had this last month for the first time ever. It was a little heavier than this time and it happened for one day and then nothing until my period showed up. This month same thing happened to days ago and now nothing. My period is due in two days. Is this something to be concerned about? Or should I just accept this is part of my cycle now. To be clear, I'm 22, always have regular periods, and am sexually active and not preventing pregnancy.
