How to convince my mom to put me on birth control

My mother is a very strict believer that me and my sisters should NOT be using birth control until we’re 18. My mom was a teen mom and is now a doctor and although she tries her best she’s still has trouble separating being a mother from a doctor.

Personally I am sexually active but I also get those terrible period cramps that leave you paralyzed for a while. I wanted to go on birth control to help ease them and get lessen the flow of my period but my mom keeps insisting I only want it so I can have sex.

She keeps telling me if I’m adult enough to have sex I’m adult enough to get my own birth control I’m only 17. I can’t drive and the nearest planned parenthood is 45 minutes away and on top of that even with a job I can’t afford birth control without insurance.

I need a way to convince her to help me with this. Any suggestions or tips?
