My holy grail tips to fight nausea and morning sickness

J.

Just in case anyone is going through it I thought I would leave this here 💜 I suffered serious morning sickness for months my last two pregnanices (called hypermesis gravidarum) which is non stop nausea and vomiting like morning sickness on steroids 24 hrs a day) so I consider myself an expert on curbing it and lots of tips to help here lol. nothing completely takes it away and it depends on your body but any relief is a blessing!

A few tips that may work for you:

1. CITRUS fruits, candies, and scents. Oranges and grapefuits really helped, and a citrus candle or non chemical scent like essential oil helps!

2. GINGER and MINT candies or gum

3. FRUIT & SOUR CANDIES- jolly ranchers and sour patch kids really saved me many times, I got the big bags from

Costco lol, because it helps with the morning sickness saliva that makes us gag! **Keep all of these candies in your purse if you have to go anywhere and a nausea wave hits in a public

Place to buy you time to get to your car or a bathroom

4. STARCHES! For me, sweet potato, dry cereals that you like, and bagels, noodles/Ramen and saltines/crackers helped.. just take little bites to calm your stomach.. i literally kept an open box of honey nut cheerios and fruit loops near my bed and would stuff a handful in my mouth every so often to curb the nausea.

5. FORCE YOURSELF TO EAT every hour or two even if its just a small bite or a handful of dry cereal or saltines. The worst thing you can do is fight morning sickness on an empty stomach, get a little something in there consistently even if it comes back io!

6. ELIMINATE STINKY SMELLS that trigger you asap.. go buy oder killers or scents for your bathroom or house laundry basket whatever you need asap esp if the smell of your hubby or bf or kids trigger you! Also close your room door if anyone is cooking.. the scent of onions killed me. Try to avoid going into the kitchen or fridge if food smells trigger you... get a mini fridge or cooler in your room with your drinks and snacks if you have to.

7. STAY HYDRATED! If you are throwing up a ton you WILL get dehydrated if you dont drink liquids, I know water and liquids can make you gag or throw up but if you throw up then forget to hydrate or avoid drinking you will wind up heading to the ER for an IV (happened to me)

8. FIZZY DRINKS- try not to drink too much sugary soda of course but if it helps just drink it girl! Sip don’t gulp. My favorites are ginger ale and grapefruit soda like Squirt.

9. DRYER SHEETS/ESSENTIAL OIL sheets- if your spouses scent makes you gag lol, drop some citrus or scent of oil you like on your pillowcase or a rag or get a non chemical dryer sheet that smells fresh to mask smells.. kept mine under my pillow it was that serious lol but it helped!

10. SEABANDS- these helped me a ton! I believe in pressure point nausea relief after 2 pregnancies esp if you have to work or drive while nauseous

Let me know if you need anything else & good luck mamas!
