Would you let your child go on an extended vacation with a grandparent?

My entire family is going to Jamaica for Christmas this year but i can't go because I'll be 35 weeks pregnant. My mom has offered to take my 2 year old with her so she can spend time with them for Christmas and give my husband and I a break before baby #2 arrives.

We weren't going to really be doing anything for Christmas anyway since his family doesn't do anything big for the holiday. We're on the fence about letting her go, mostly because we have never let her go anywhere without us for that long.
