Pronunciations

So, my husband and his mom like to pick at people about grammar, pronunciation etc, I find it frustrating as I come from people who are more likely to say "I ain't got no time for that" than "I don't have any time", he once picked a fight because I said "Italian" eye-talian (which is how the 10 Italian dudes I worked with said it) on account of he went to Italy once. He pronounces "croissant" and Quebec and any foreign actors names with accents and I find it so pretentious, however I know he thinks I sound stupid /uneducated, and while I get the general grammar and pronunciation of words (I'm an avid reader and I'm grateful when he corrects words I'm saying completely wrong) the accents on foreign names/places/words drives me nuts!
