Is baby softener necessary? Can I use adult softener? I bought baby detergent but I forgot the softener. 
And what about the dryer sheets. Do I need baby dryer sheets?

Baby detergent isn’t even necessary. It’s gimmicky. Just use what you normally use, baby is sensitive to it when it gets here then switch.

Fabric softener and dryer sheets are full of toxic chemicals and horrible for you in general. I wouldn’t use them ever but especially not around a baby.

It's all a racket. We will use the same free and clear detergent and reusable wool dryer balls we use for our own clothes.

No you don’t need softener or dryer sheets. You don’t wanna use adults because it might break baby out. Just use free and clear detergent.

I use a free and clear detergent for baby (I like All brand). No softener or dryer sheets. I discovered awhile ago that softeners and dryer sheets are a scam. They're expensive, unnecessary, and don't do much except put added chemicals on your clothes.

Softener and dryer sheets and special baby detergent are gimmicks. If baby is sensitive to your regular detergent then you could switch to a free and clear, but you’ll have to switch your detergent as well because especially as a newborn they’ll be resting their face on your shirt a lot. 
We don’t use dryer sheets or softener and we use regular tide powder. My son has sensitive skin and allergies but has never had an issue with our usual laundry detergent.

I plan on using what I always use and when baby is here if it causes any irritation to her than I’ll switch to baby detergent 🤷🏼‍♀️
