Unless you are full term, you should not pump. Nipple stimulation releases oxytocin and can put you into labor. So unless you’re 40 weeks, I wouldn’t pump.

If you're going to try and collect colostrum I would suggest waiting until you're term (37 weeks), if not full term (39 weeks), and hands expressing not pumping.

Yes pumping releases oxytocin however having sex releases more oxytocin than pumping so unless your doctor told you not to have sex because of a chance of going into early labor I wouldn’t be concerned about going into labor 
I have been hand expressing I’m 35 weeks and I’ve tried pumping but hand expressing works better for me as far as getting anything out I’ve tried both my electric pumps and a hand pump
