6 things women TTC DON'T want to hear!
Every woman Openly TTC is likely to get some sort of advice, words of wisdom, or pep talk. What are you sick of hearing while trying to conceive? Comment below!
*my post below is not meant to make anyone feel bad. I know that most people who make comments when someone is TTC is just trying to help. A lot of sarcasm and humor helps me cope, and might be helpful for others too :)
"I got off my birth control and got pregnant right away!" Good for you, congratulations. As happy as I am for you, I'm still going to wallow in my self-pity and eat a crap ton of Oreos so at least my stomach won't feel as empty as my uterus. But my all means, yay for you!
"You want to be pregnant too badly"
You're right! Too easy. I'll just turn off my "desire for a baby" switch and not give a sh*t. That'll work.
*p.s. When someone masters the art of giving less sh*ts, let me know!
"Don't worry, my [insert family member, friend, or random person] took two years to get pregnant. You just have to be patient".
After 3 years of pinning nursery ideas, reading every conception book of all time, and experiencing an emotional roller coaster each month we ttc, I think I have been patient enough.
"You should try tracking your ovulation. That would help."
Hahahahaha. I love hearing this one the most. I laugh because I have tried every ridiculous trick known to man kind! You name it, I've tried it.. From doing head stands after sex until I'm nearly purple in the face to going so crazy that i start seeing imaginary lines on my opk and HCG tests. Been there, done that.
"You should be enjoying this time without kids!"
I have had plenty of time to "enjoy my life without kids".
Now I'm ready to enjoy morning sickness, swelling feet, and swearing off wine for 9 months. Not joking.
"You want kids? You can have mine. You'll change your mind".
Ahhh. My personal favorite. No thanks, I want my own. Maybe one day when I'm two kids deep, haven't showered in 2 weeks, and permanently wear sweatpants I will "change my mind". But probably not.
