Tips and Advice?

My love and I just entered this stage of our relationship. We're not able to be together for a good long while and I'm looking for some help and advice on how best to approach this. I know that the distance doesn't matter that much because he and I matter more. 
I've never been in a ldr before, neither has he, but we really want this to work out as best as it can

I was in a LDR for almost 2 years and we just split because we wouldn't be able to close the gap for another 4 years and were too young to commit. 
Though, while we were dating, we made it work. 
Learn how to be independent and not dependent on the other person. You both have your own lives you want to live, so don't neglect it. There may be some days were you don't get to talk to each other much and you're both going to have to accept that. Sending texts reminding them you think they're wonderful or that you love them will help the day pass on and bring a smile to their face. 
Be honest about everything and tell each other everything that's going on. 
Even about that one curb you tripped on while crossing the street. 
Call each other regularly to just talk or just to see each other. We often stayed on the phone for hours just to see each other and hear them breathe. We also loved falling asleep together on call. I always fell asleep within a minute when I heard him breathing. 
Schedule time that's just for you guys! It's your date time so make it feel like it. Dress up for it and make the exact same meal if you really want to make it special. Watch movies and shows together. Again, call and just do things together. 
You guys can have sexy time as well. Sexting helps keep that attraction alive. Whether you roleplay through text, send pictures, or video chat while doing the dos with yourself. Go buy yourself some new lingerie and tease him with it! 
I hope this helps. I know the distance is hard and you're going to miss him, but when you get to see each other again, you'll cherish everything much more. Long distance is doable and you need to be strong, but you can do it!

My boyfriend and I are in a LDR, and we have been for the entire length of our relationship (almost 3 years). We are in different countries, so our options for communication are different, so we primarily use WhatsApp.  We text each other from the time we get up until he gets home throughout the day and let each other know what is going on with our days. We send voice messages back and forth while he is driving, if he doesn't have his daughters in the car cuz they are 2 noisy lil girls lol. But when we both get home, we used to use rabb.it to watch movies and shows together, but they have been sucking, so we switched to twoseven.xyz. This allows us to be on webcam, use our mics, and watch YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or just about any other website. We stay on it all night and fall asleep together every night together and wake up together every day. 
But the keys to making it work long term are being open, honest, and communicating how you feel. If something is bothering you, let him know since he can't physically see if something is. Trust is super important as well. Understand that there will be days where you won't be able to speak much, and while it can be frustrating, just make the best of the time you do have together on those days  This has worked really well for us, and we are finally closing the gap in less than 3 months time when I move where he is. It is possible to make it work, especially in this modern age with so much technology to keep us connected on a daily basis.

As long as y’all have a plan in the future to be together permanently, it will be easier. I’ve been in a ldr for 4 months now and we visit each other two weekends each month. Make a plan when y’all can visit and maybe even plan a longer vacation further out too! Communication is huge! It totally sucks, but it can work out!
