Do you think it’s weird when people have names that are not of their ethnic background?

Asking bc I see so many posts on here asking “does this name fit on a biracial/white/German/Italian/polka dotted/black/hispanic/or Asian child?” Lol. Or “does his/her name fit since he/she came out with dark/light skin?” 
I just wonder do most people find it weird when people who are not of the same ethnic background where the name originated from have whatever the name is as their first name.

I feel like you can name your kids whatever you want regardless of anything. I mean have you read some celebrity baby names?

I dont think its weird. I have little cousins that are Japanese and they have super mexican names lol.

My father is Mexican. He was adopted by my grandmother's husband so his last name is Polish. I find it odd that anyone would have a problem with someone else's name. It's impossible to guess someone's background as it is, let alone judge it.

Personal preference. If you want traditional names for your kids, by all means. But don’t judge parents who wanna be a little unique or happen to appreciate another culture and wanna name their kid something different.

I think it’s super weird. Not bad or anything. Just weird haha. Like my great-grandmas name was Juanita and she was like 100% Scottish. My husbands great aunt was also named Juanita and she was fully Irish haha. I don’t get it haha.

Not at all , I’m Russian and my so is Ecuadorian , our daughter name is Isabella. We picked that name on purpose because I personally don’t like Russian names and they are SO similar to Hispanic names like 80% . We crossed that out right away.  I mean it’s just a name nothing else 🤷🏼‍♀️ in high school we had 2 brothers they were Guatemalan and everyone was making fun of them because their names was Luke and Connor.  It was messed up/sad to hear kids saying “you’re not white” or “why would your parents name you like that”

Personally, I think it’s super weird and wouldn’t name my own kids something that doesn’t “fit”. 1. The names don’t flow with the last names and 2. most of the time the grandparents and other family members can’t even pronounce it right, sometimes even the parents can’t pronounce it.
