When to schedule my first appointment?

So I already confirmed my pregnancy with a blood test at my general practitioner. When do I set up my first obgyn appointment? My mom said there's no rush because even if something was wrong, it's too early for them to do anything. I'm currently only 4 weeks.

Go ahead and call now, so they can schedule your appointment. They normally do first appointments anywhere from 6-10 weeks. You just want to get it in the books, so there's not a chance of them being booked up or something :) good luck!

They won't schedule an appt until at least 6 weeks anyhow some places even later it doesn't hurt to call and get scheduled so it's taken care of  though!

I'd call them asap. Although they might not even see you until 8 weeks. Better they know about you incase something happens

Call now because they usually book in advance... If you wait you may have to wait even longer to get seen. I called as soon as I found out, had my first appointment at 8 weeks. Call sooner rather than later. It's better to call early and have an appointment set than wait, and them be completely booked

I set up an appointment the day after I found out. I was about 6 weeks pregnant before they got me in.

Youre right if there is something wrong there's nothing they can do, but you will need a pap done.

I called my local obgyn to find out for myself, I was told between 8-10 weeks so that the doctor has a better chance in hearing a heartbeat.

I was scheduled at 6-7 weeks but called when I found out at 4 just to get in. They will schedule you appropriately and my first appointment was just information then I got the ultrasound at 8 weeks then an appointment right around then to meet the doctor :) then it's every 4 weeks after that for a while

If you don't mind me asking what was some of your early signs?? Right now I'm in 2 week waiting period && have extremely heavy boobs and the nipples hurt so bad! Bad headaches an cramps!! 😒

My GP referred me around 10 weeks. I'm now 12+4 and haven't been to the obgyn as yet. My GP can handle it up to 17 weeks then I'll see a midwife. Obgyn was too expensive for me right now.
