If you buy a bridal shower gift, do you buy a wedding gift as well?

So, if you buy a gift and give it at the bridal shower, (I’m a bridesmaid). Do you have to buy another gift to give at the wedding? I don’t know what to do!

I do a gift at the shower, and cash for the wedding.

I thought the bridal shower gift was exclusive for the bride and the wedding gift is for the bride and groom? 
Either way I give cash or gift cards, much easier

I always "shower" the bride with a gift for her.  And the wedding is always  a check for the couple.

I’ve never given two gifts. We always spend a nice amount on a shower to give at the shower if we attend, or wait and take the gift to the wedding if we can’t make it to the shower. I think it’s silly for someone to expect a gift at the shower and another at the wedding. Just my personal opinion
