i hate that distinctive bug spray smell, does anyone know a good smelling one?

If you get a bug spray with Deet, I’m afraid that that “bug spray” smell will be inescapable. However, have you looked into any natural bug sprays? Last summer I tried Murphy’s Naturals lemongrass eucalyptus bug spray for the first time on a trip to the Apostle islands. We were camping on a platform right above a marshy area, so the mosquitos and flies were RELENTLESS and came at us in waves. We could literally see clouds of them forming. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this natural bug spray worked (it actually seemed to be significantly more effective than the Deet bug spray that my friends were using). The bottle does go quickly, but that may have been because I was reapplying so often due to the outrageous amount of insects. It also has a very pleasant scent if you like citrus, but if you don’t, I believe that they have other bug sprays with different essential oils. (One thing to note— I think this particular spray hasn’t been proven to ward off ticks)
