Midwife says there's a small, small amount of evidence that RRL tea will help with a smooth labor (not inducing it though) but that I'd have to drink at least 6 cups of tea a day from 36 weeks on to see any impact. Same thing with dates -- about 6 dates a day to help prep and tone the uterus.

It did nothing for me with my first child. I tried every old wives tail to help naturally induce labor. The day before my water broke, I spent a long time brushing my dog who sheds a lot. My husband and I now joke that brushing my dog helped induce labor...that’s about how well any of those interventions actually work.
