I didn’t write one for my first, but I would like to have something simple to take to the hospital this time.

Hello. Mine is set out with the type of birth and environment I want (quiet, dark room and an active birth with Hypnobirthing and a pool) at the start. Then I talk about what pain relief I ideally do/don’t want. Then I talk about any extra things I want or need like hot compresses to help reduce tears and info about my birth partner. Finally I talk about the fourth stage and list my preferences regarding cutting the cord, DCC, undisturbed skin to skin and that I’m going to breastfeed. I hope that helps. I found it best to write down my preferences and then put it into sections :) x

Movement
No coaching on pushing unless evidently needed
No eye ointment after birth
Yes to vitamin k shot after birth
Do not clamp/cut cord until it stops pulsing
Immediate skin to skin
Do not rub vernix (sp?) Off
Limited cervical checks
Water use for pain management
