Wedding reception/baby shower combination?

So, I’m 16 weeks pregnant and due in September. My boyfriend and I always planned on getting married but never got around to it in the last 6 years. We want to keep it small and thought about doing a wedding with just us and our parents and then having everyone else for some sort of reception. What if we did a wedding reception-baby shower combination? So, basically just a party with baby gifts.

This is what my fiancé and I are doing. We planned to get married the end of this year but decided to do a combo instead earlier in the year. Some people think it’s tacky or not “proper etiquette” but do what is best for you. We’re having our ceremony then the reception will be all about the baby shower. Didn’t register for wedding gifts just baby. We didn’t think it was smart to spend on a wedding and then again on a baby shower so we combined it and that is working out great for us! We get married in 11 days and I can’t wait!
