Dangerous? Too many follicles? This is my CD 12 sono showing 8 decent follicles w/ clomid. I triggered 2 nights ago and have had sex the last 3 nights. Am I crazy for doing this? Anyone else had several follicles? Outcome? TIA

Its not crazy in my book, I had iui 3 times with one good follicle each time, nothing took. I wish I’d had 8! As long as you’ve had discussions with your partner about the risks associated with multiples and your dr hasn’t said you are at risk then go for it! Good luck.

It definitely puts you at risk for high order multiples and if that happens the doctor may suggest selective reduction 😕. So it’s possibly very risky.

I had 5 and am only pregnant with 1 baby. My dr told me as long as I understood the risks that it was up to me and she also put me on meds to prevent OHSS.

I had 4 and I'm 19w with twins. I know my clinic would not have allowed me to trigger with more than 4.

It definitely comes with some risks and you might have to make some difficult decisions. Make sure you talk with your doctor and partner about how you would want to proceed. That being said my 2nd and 3rd iui I had 7 and 5 follicles respectively and both ended up as chemicals. I only knew cuz I was testing early. If I hadn't been I would've just assumed I was unsuccessful.
