Mother’s helper pay?
I’m curious to know what to expect to pay a mother’s helper for a 6month old. My story is this: I work from home full-time and also take care of my son full-time. Don’t try this at home, folks. Lol.
Anyhow, I found a college kid in the neighborhood who is willing to help me out occasionally so I can focus on my job, and she is letting me set the pay rate. I know nothing about what a fair rate would be, so here I am, asking for reasonable feedback.
What I expect from the mother’s helper is to feed my son (I would prepare bottles and whatnot) and essentially play with him, and get him down for naps, etc. I would be doing all diaper changes and would be present/available at all times. I would not be leaving at any point to “run errands” or anything of that nature. Not expecting her to do any chores/cleaning/dishwashing or anything like that either (Should I be?). Just feeding him, playing with him, getting him down for naps. Rinse, wash, repeat. Period.
