How did you decide on IVF?

So I have an appt tomorrow with my RE to see what route they would go next. A little background...I have secondary infertility (been trying for 18 months) with 2 miscarriages and 1 chemical. We have done 2 rounds of clomid and 5 rounds of femara (2 of them IUI). Husbands SA was good but he is getting an updated one next week. I have PCOS. With our first child I got preggo on first round of femara 2.5. We took this month off fertility treatments for a break. How did you and your partner decide to take the plunge into IVF? I don’t know how much longer we should try or how long of a break we should take or if we should just take the dive into IVF. Any insight, suggestions or personal experiences are much appreciated! 😊

My husbands Vasectomy reveral failed. He didn't even have enough of a count or motility for IUI. We had to go straight to IVF. Fresh failed...first frozen worked. I'm 8 weeks!

We decided to do IVF with PGS after two missed miscarriages from conceiving on our own. I couldn’t stand the idea of miscarrying again. It scared me way too much to be pregnant again and potentially lose the baby.

We failed 3 IUI cycles, unexplained fertility. We been trying this coming May for 2 years and absolutely nothing. We have our Ivf consult at the end of this month.hopefully we can start during my next cycle. Also I live in a mandated state so it’s affordable after my OOP is met.

At 42 we weren’t going to waste anytime. Going straight to ivf with pgt. We are paying out of pocket and therefore if two rounds of my own eggs don’t work heading to donor eggs.

We decided to skip everything and go straight to IVF for a few reasons. My insurance covers it so that was very helpful with our decision also. And I have really low AMH along with endometriosis. We were told that it would be extremely unlikely to get pregnant on our own and that medication and IUI probably wouldn't be useful. So we went straight to IVF.  we've now done 4 rounds and none have worked. My body hates me. And we haven't gotten any eggs to freeze until this most recent round. So I'm glad we went straight to it because dealing with 4 rounds of failure was bad enough. I can't imagine going through it more than I already have. But we have been fortunate with the financial aspect. If your insurance doesn't cover it, make sure that you are comfortable with the financial aspects of it and be sure you'll be comfortable if it fails too.

Read up on DHEA I heard it's really good for women getting ready to undergo IVF although I have not ever done IVF it's worth looking at I found the information in the book called it all starts with the egg
