Getting a puppy when you have an (almost) 4 month old.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong group. Someone can tell me where this would be more appropriate I can move it there. We recently lost our dog just over a month ago. I can't even describe how much I loved him. I was also 8 weeks post partum when this happened so it triggered some post partum depression. My SO and I have decided it may be beneficial to get another puppy. Has anyone ever got a new puppy with an almost 4 month old baby? Was it a bad experience or good experience?
