Hysterectomy while breast feeding?

Well I’m getting ready to reschedule my hysterectomy (was supposed to be today but my pump decided it didn’t want to do it’s job so couldn’t pump what I need for my son) they said I wouldn’t be able to nurse for minimum of 3 days 🙄😳. 
Any one have any experience as a breastfeeding mom an having a hysterectomy done?

I would find out what medications they’re using and verify with a lactation consultant to see if it’s actually necessary to wait that long. Doctors are usually overly cautious because they aren’t as educated about lactation. 
I had a minor procedure while breastfeeding and the doctor told me I had to pump and dump for 12-14 hours but the LC said it was safe to nurse as soon as I got home. I was also put under general anesthesia during my c-section after they pulled my daughter out and was still able to nurse her as soon as I was awake.

It might be because of the painkillers. Talk to the LC and find out what they’re using. I look all my stuff up on LactMed.
