Baby stops breathing when crying!
My son is 12 days today and at his evening bath he did a horrible new cry. He went in as usual to his little baby bath and cried a bit, as he always does at first. Then we lay a flannel over him with the warm water so he feels a bit more secure. He stopped crying then for a minute and seemed happy. Then he scream cried a cry we haven’t heard from him before and stopped breathing for a second or two.
It sounded painful so I grabbed him out of the bath and cuddled him and of course he only stopped breathing for a second and then he was fine. He stopped crying and I checked him over and nothing seemed to hurt him when I touched his body. I put him back in and he did it again!
The internet says it’s just breath holding crying and it’s fine, but to have a baby of less than six months checked to make sure it’s nothing else to be sure.
Has anyone else had this? I have two kids already but they’re 7 and 8 and I can’t remember it. I’m so happy since he’s been born, he’s completed our family and it’s been so different because with my other two I was in an abusive relationship so the family dynamic was not how it should be and my new partner is the best dad and partner. I’m just so happy that im scared it’s all gonna be taken away. Im terrified he’s gonna just die! Like of sids or something, he’s so tiny!
I don’t really know what I hope to get from any replies but it was just so scary and after he was fine again I cried for ages!
Any advice or reassurance?
