I feel so guilty for this but I am most likely leaving my company after my 6 weeks of short term disability leave. I have heard about other women doing this to stay at home with their baby but I would be doing it for a new job that is much more family friendly. If I leave before baby gets here I lose out on the money I have paid towards my deductible so far and I would have no short term disability or FMLA coverage. My new company is fine with me starting after I finish that with my current company but I feel like such a horrible person. Anyone else do this or plan on quitting after their baby is born and they have taken leave? I know it’s best for my family but I feel like the biggest jerk.
