Should I call Dr ASAP? I'm 27wks pregnant and I found a tick on my neck😥😥

There was a tick on my neck! and my SO ripped it off for me 😫 it was my first ever tick (she said it looked like a deer tick) and I'm worried I'll get lyme or something else horrible. Should I go to the doctor asap or can it wait until my appointment on the 26th?

Shouldn't just rip it off so I hope that was an exaggeration lol. You ALWAYS want to make sure the head comes out as well. And if you remove it incorrectly and the head is still inside it could cause issues. Make sure you get it looked at? Next time don't panic and throw a big blob of vaseline all over it and wait a few mins. It wont be able to breath and will try and come out on it's out and it makes it much easier for you to remove!

If it was identifiable by its pattern it luckily probably wasn’t on you very long.  Once they’re on a while they get engorged and all look similar.  Just call the doc in the morning, they’ll probably just tell you to keep an eye on it☺️ Try not to worry too much!!

Ticks have to be attached for an extended period of time for Lyme disease. It’s not an emergency. As long as the site around the bite does not develop a bulls eye sign or red streaks or anything it’s nothing to worry about.

Clean the site with alcohol and afterwards antibacterial. You should be fine, but if you begin seeing a red area and it looks even slightly infected I’d get it checked out.

Yes because I believe Lymes can be prevented with antibiotics if the tick was infected, but there's a limited time to do so.

If it gets infected or develops a target style redness, go to the er. If not, you should be okay.

Yeah Lyme disease sucks. My mom has it. It’s very dangerous if not detected and can be treated to a certain degree. However it is incurable.
