breast anatomy stop breast feeding ?

this is tmi but my nipples are flat/inverted-ish , but they do stick out a little when i’m cold or whatever , this is my first baby and i want to breast feed so badly , will having inverted/flat nipples be a problem for breastfeeding ? 😭😭😭😭😭 ughhhhh i’m due in about 8 weeks and when he is born i want my baby to breastfeed immediately i just want to bond with him

Don’t give up dear. Breastfeeding isn’t way for anyone. I breast fed my son for 8 months and I had inverted nipples. I used nipple shields which helps the baby latch and also encourages the nipple to pull out correctly. After a few weeks my nipples were no longer inverted so my son could latch correctly. If u struggle when baby arrives there is always help available. I stopped at 8 months due to other medical reasons. Take a deep breath. You will be just fine xx sending love

There’s a lot of information out there about breastfeeding with inverted nipples! They might just naturally pop out more when your milk comes in, but if not a lactation consultant can help you—they should have one available when you deliver.

Mine never popped out. I used a nipple shield for 10 weeks but because of it my nipples never healed so they constantly bled. My son never learned to properly latch. It was a shit show. We quite at 12 weeks. I was going to exclusively pump but I went back to work and never made time to pump so my supply rapidly declined. I tried relactating at 6 months and i was able to get my supply up enough to comfort feed and my son miraculously figured out the latch. 
Next time around I’m not going to use the shield. We’re going to do it the old fashioned way where the baby will figure it out without a bunch of intervention. Good luck!!

I had the same issue but was able to breastfeed. Use nipple shields and meet with a laceration nurse to help you properly latch.
