Afraid of bugs?

Question

Anyone have a little one who's afraid of bugs? Or any other weird sudden fear? My little one literally screams and calls for Mommy... ants, butterflies, bees, doesn't matter... Or any advice? books to read? I'm not sure how to parents through this. I'm not afraid of bugs and don't react when I see them, so she's not picking that up from me or anyone else that I'm aware of.

Thanks everyone!! We spent most of our Easter outside so we met a lot of bugs! Everyone laughed when she would scream about a bug... It's really hard not to because it's actually hysterical, BUT we all then would say oh that bug is so cool, hi bug, and she actually said hi to a bug today... I'll call it progress and we'll keep working on it!! And I'll keep working on not cracking up when she screams lol

This age kids tend to freak out about a lot. 
I try to tell my son a bunch of cool facts about the things he’s afraid of. Explain how they work, why they are good. 
Like bugs that help flowers and gardens. Or bees that make yummy honey.

My daughter has become more reactive to stuff. She used to climb, slide, get dirty and look at bugs and amphibians without issues. Now she requires more assurances with all of those things. I think she’s just now learning consequences ( like falling, getting bitten, clothes being dirty etc. ) I’m thinking it’s just a phase though. 
With climbing I’m just letting her do things at her own pace and assuring her I won’t let her fall because I’m not wanting to put her off climbing. With the bugs and reptiles I just make a big deal of how cool they are and ask her questions about them. With getting dirty I tell her it’s ok that those are her getting dirty shoes or shirt and make a big deal about having fun with whatever we are doing.

My son is terrified of bugs, even a fly lmao But I’m pretty sure he picked that up from me and to be completely honest I don’t really care if he is or is not afraid of bugs. 
He loves other animals but if he sees a creepy crawler he’ll literally scream bloody murder. 
Eventually she’ll grow out of it, but if you don’t want her to be afraid of them reading books could definitely help

Could have written this myself! My little boy used to love looking at insects and lately he’s just terrified when he sees one! I’m doing the same as you, showing him how interesting they are and holding his hand to look closely at them. I figure he will just grow out of it at some point.
