I work for a corporate daycare, I started back in January. The director who initially hired me was shitty and never covered XYZ with the background checks. Some girls who have been working there for over a year didn’t even have a file on them. About a month into working for them the director was fired and they hired the assistant director as director. Two weeks ago she told me I needed to redo my finger prints as there was discrepancy in if they were good or bad prints. 🙄 I go and get my finger prints done and a couple Day’s later I get a match letter from a charge in 2012 for possession of marijuana. Though I was arrested I was never charged or convicted, I was released without prosecution. The match letter stated I was not allowed on the property until licensing did a investigation. I have to send in the police report, and bunch of other things from being arrested. It takes 30 days to do the risk evaluation and there’s 6 other People besides me that they doing risk evaluations on. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant, even after the 30 days I’ll be having a baby and out of work. I filed for unemployment but mY Director called me yesterday and said I shouldn’t bank on getting unemployment as it’s not the company’s fault I was let go... has anyone been through a similar situation? I’m not trying to “bank” on getting unemployment, I feel like this should of been done during the hiring process not 4 months down the road.
