Is this safe?

I was wondering if i would be able to get my tongue pierced? The veins are HUGE and i’m scared if i go and get it done that my tongue will end up paralyzed 😳

Piercing a vein will not paralyze your tongue. Paralysis occurs when you sever nerves which I believe are in your spinal column, if I’m not mistaken. It also looks like the piercing will be in the middle of the veins since it will be centered in your tongue and it will miss them. If you go to the piercer they should be able to let you know if they can do it or not, because I’m not sure how they work around piercings and veins, but you can’t paralyze your tongue from getting it pierced or piercing a vein.

Yes it’s safe the piercing goes in between the veins. I have a face mask on🤣🤣

I don’t see why the piercing would touch the veins but your piercer will be able to tell you if it’s safe/a good idea to get it done

It goes between the veins, I wouldn’t be concerned about paralysis or any of that stuff, just make sure you see a reputable piercer for the tongue. Some places won’t do it because the insurance is too expensive to cover them if they mess up🤷‍♀️ but as long as you do your research on where to go, it’ll be perfectly fine.
It was literally a completely painless piercing, I was so scared but it was easier than my ear lobes 😂. It’s just the healing that nearly got to me, so make sure to have plenty of ice cubes prepared for about 5-7 days. Careful when eating for the first few days. The swelling can be pretty mad but the main swelling goes after about a week, some of the tissue immediately surrounding the piercing might stay inflamed for around 2/3 weeks. You get used to it very quickly, and once you change to a shorter bar, it feel like your mouth is bare 😂
I’m very happy I got mine done, it’s the only piercing I’ve had that healed quickly and never had an infection/irritation. 
Side note, I’d consider not having anything hot/spicy during the initial healing. Stay stocked up on panadol/ibuprofen. I’m allergic to ibuprofen so I only used panadol but I can only imagine if I could use it, ibuprofen would’ve made it even better to heal.
