Helpful Tips from PMDD Doctor
Hi all. First off, I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s frustrating, infuriating, and devastating.
I went to see a specialty doctor about an official PMDD diagnosis, and was able to get her advice on non-medical methods to manage my extreme lows in the week before my period (luteal phase).
Here’s what’s actually helped me:
💊 Vitamin B Complex
💊 Calcium
💊 Vitamin D
🥰 10-15 minutes of guided meditation (I stick with Headspace App but there are plenty other options )
🌱 📒 Taking walks, looking at nature, yoga, deep breathing, journaling, and other exercise have also kept me much more even-minded and balanced.
Note: I have endometriosis (excision 2017) and a Mirena IUD. I find everything more manageable with the IUD than when I used other hormonal birth control methods.
I hope this helps someone ❤️
