Christian vs Buddhist dating?

I am Christian. I’ve been seeing this guy and recently found out he is Buddhist. 
What are similarities and differences between our beliefs? I never thought I would be with someone with a different religion as me. 
But he’s everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sweet, he’s just amazing. He treats his mom wonderful and takes care of her (she has cancer) and he treats me better than any man ever has, including my own father. 
I don’t wanna let him go though. But how can I make us work? Would it be greedy of me to try and convert him to Christianity? Help.

Yes it would be greedy. That’s not your place at all and you both can still have a relationship regardless of your religions. It’s all about respect. I do not want to try to discuss similarities and differences because the beliefs about both religions are so broad, and I don’t know either one if you personally so I don’t want to assume anything.

My partner and I are in the same boat. I am catholic and he’s Buddhist. I respect his religion and wouldn’t make him convert, however when it comes to religion we tend to join each other’s practises, for example, if we sit down and eat a meal with my family, we will say grace and he joins in (he’s never been made to say it), If his family go to temple and be blessed I will do the same. People think it’s weird and tell us that we’re not committed to our religion but we find it’s just out of respect 🤷🏻‍♀️ when we have children we’re not sure what we will do, but I personally want them to grow up free from religion and they can believe in what they want to believe when they grow up. That’s just my experience in this situation, you might think it’s dumb or eccentric but it works for us

So you think he’s perfect but you want to change a huge aspect of him? What makes you think your religion is better than his? I think you need to accept him for who he is and his belief system or find someone just as selfish as you and let him be.

If you have to convert him to be with him, you shouldn't be with him. That would be selfish of you. 
Why don't you research it yourself and see if you think your beliefs will be compatible? Ask him about his beliefs? He's the best person to ask. We can't really answer this for you, but I do hope it works out as he sounds like a great guy regardless.
