Anyone else take the train or bus?

Do you feel weird being offered a seat? If none are available, do you ask someone to move? I've always made a point to stand up when the train gets crowded, but now it feels weird when I really want to sit down but no one offers. when someone does offer I'm grateful but embarrassed. Anyone else run into this issue?

I'm showing, but I'm not at that uncomfortable stage yet, so even if someone FINALLY offers me a seat, I say I'm ok and stand (most ppl wait to offer their seat until I'm about to get off anyway). I'm waiting for when I REALLY REALLY need a seat to start asking ppl to get out of the seats for elderly, disabled and prefers. Today I did wake a sleeping guy up and asked him to move his skateboard so I could sit. He seemed pissed but oh well - I paid for a seat, his skateboard didn't.

I take the train for Manhattan every morning for work. I always get a seat at 4:30, 5am. I hope everyday someone will give me their seat on the way home though, at rush hour. The other day got on with my friend and a nice young man got up for me for the first time ever! Usually they look up at me quick and then pretend they're sleeping. I said to my friend 'well, it only took 24 weeks!' Lol

I've stopped being embarrassed when offered a seat... I need it most of the time. But I'm not to the point where I feel comfortable asking. I do get annoyed when I'm not offered bc I'm clearly showing. My commute is about 90mins (60mins train the rest is walking/transfer time) so getting jerked around on the subway for that long isn't a good option for me...
