Fertility?

Question

So something that’s bothering me is am I fertile or not? Can I have kids? I’m recovering from addiction and my body has been through a LOT, car accidents, heroin, abuse and I’m scared that may cause me to be infertile. I’m now engaged to an amazing man and kids are on our minds a lot. How do I find out if I actually am fertile or not? I’m waiting on a doctors appointment but it’s churning in my head & driving me crazy.

Answer

All you can do is see an OBGYN or reproductive endocrinologist. They can give you some physical exams and bloodwork that will give an idea of your fertility.
However, whether it comes back as normal or abnormal isn’t really a gauge of how easy you’ll become pregnant. 
Our bodies have amazing ways of overcoming and healing from trauma. I hope you have success starting a family 🙂
