So what is perjury is that where you Lie on stand under oath or recant a statement or is it both?

I filled out a statement with information that I thought was true at the time but after this week. I had learned when I had written in that statement a small portion of it was not true, while the larger portion was true. But like I said at the time I did not realize that the smaller portion was not true it’s what I had thought but I was wrong.

If I were to call the police station tomorrow to ask to recant and re-write my statement would I get in trouble???
