How long were you TTC before seeing a fertility specialist?

Question

We've been TTC for 11 months. My pre-conception screening was all clear, but I'm starting to be concerned (not to mention frustrated) that I may never get pregnant. My OB, said "give it more time", but offered to refer me to a specialist if I wanted. I'm curious what advice others have been given.

Wow all these comments got me thinking I need to get checked thanks everyone for heads up. Cause I been off depo 11 months and no luck also I have some cramping and sharp pains out of no where sometimes. So getting all the test done now so I can make sure I am ok down there i am scared now that maybe I can't have kids

I just went in after a year and a half..and also just found out I may have pcos 😔

If it were me, I would probably go in after 12 months. I wouldn't want to feel like I'm wasting any more time and would want answers.. But then again, I'm very impatient.

Well after taking out my birth control and they said that I should give it from six months to a year 
Still no BFP then came to find out I had polyps on the lining of my uterus and had them removed March of this year
If nothing by the end of August I had to go back to them and was diagnosed with poly y cystic ovarian syndrome
So now I will have to start Clomid because I am possibly not ovulating and have to get a hysterosalpingogram to make sure there is no blockage on my fallopian tubes

I finally went to my doctor after 18 months. I had an hsg test done and found out my left tube was blocked. I started clomid a couple months later and was pregnant that month. Now 33 weeks :)

A year and a half. I had one miscarriage and also have pcos and endometriosis. He thankfully also discovered an ectopic pregnancy I didn't know I had and I had an HSG done today. So glad I am in his care now!!
