PCOS and Birth Control

I was just diagnosed with PCOS on 9-9-15. I have been ttc for all but a year with no luck. I first thought it had something to do with the iud Mirena that I had for 2 full years. Then the news of PCOS came to play. I am currently on the bc Junel and was told to stay on it until my cycles became normal then stop and start ttc again. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, how long did it take for you to conceive? I am currently on a basic bc and a very low doseage. I do not want to be on bc considering I am ttc but my doctor suggest this will be the best option. I just feel so lost and confused on how this even happened. I have a 3 year old little girl and had no problems conceiving so my only guess is that it was the iud. My testerone levels are high. Please, if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with PCOS and took birth control to fix the problems and conceived after, I would love to hear the outcome.
