20 Week Anatomy Scan and I have questions

Ophelia

I’m a first time momma and I’m a little bit terrified. We went in for our anatomy scan today to see our little baby boy😍 We were so excited, but afterwards the doctor had some concerns. First off, she said I have a low-lying placenta. She said it shouldn’t be an issue unless it is still low at 32 weeks. After that, she said that it really changed the way that they could see the baby and that they had some issues getting the right angle on him.

Afterwards, she said that he appears to had a foot that is turned inward and wasn’t flexing much during the ultrasound. She said it may appear that way because of how the baby was positioned or the baby may have a clubbed foot.

Lastly, she said that she couldn’t get a good reading of the amount of thickness with the neck. She said that the neck may be thicker than normal, which could be a sign for chromosomal issues, or it may just be the baby’s position. She said there was no fluid in the spine, the baby is growing perfectly, and no organs are at risk. She referred us to a maternal fetal ultrasound and genetic counseling. Neither dad or I have any chromosomal issues that run in our family. I feel so terrified and I’ve been crying all day. Anyone had any issues like this?
