Steak while pregnant?🥩

I’m going to a meal with my friends tonight and we are going to a steak house, I love steak and always have done! I’ve done lots of research about eating steak while pregnant but seen mixed opinions! I really want steak but worried it may cause problems? Would it be okay if it was cooked medium or should I stay clear? Please help me ladies! All my friends will be eating it and i can’t think of anything worse than watching them😩

Steak is generally cut from areas on the cow that are far enough away from the intestines that the risk of food borne illness is extremely low. That’s why some people eat theirs so raw that a good vet could get it back up and mooing haha. So you will definitely be fine to eat steak 😊

Medium-well is what's recommended when you're pregnant. If the meat is okay then medium is fine, but you run the risk of it containing bacteria and if so (you don't really know how they stored the meat, the restaurant supplier etc) and medium may not be high enough to kill all the bacteria.

Usually I eat steak medium, but since pregnancy I’ve been getting it well done. Not as good but I’d rather not risk it being undercooked.

I had steak many times while pregnant. It was one of my cravings. I had it cooked both medium rare (if I was eating at a good restaurant) and medium (if I was cooking it myself) and never had any issues.

I just ate some steak cooked on the grill it was medium well I would say was still kind of bloody I’m so scared now I don’t wanna be harming my baby

You’ll be fine once in a while won’t hurt and just not to raw I have the same issues lol love steak but hate it well done sometimes I’ll have it a little less cooked ask for medium well it’s should be fine
