I’m 12 weeks. Yes? No? Double apron? Extra precautions? Need a root canal clean out.

Most dental X-rays are digital now and way less radiation. If you must get an X-ray, wear 2 aprons and keep them to a minimal amount. You don’t want to let an infection go if you have one. Communication with you obgyn and your dentist is key and be sure all parties are aware that your going to be getting dental treatment.

In most cases, the OB will write you a note on what can and cannot happen. Per my insurance and my OB, I'm allowed 5 oral xrays in my second/third trimester. So definitely ask your provider!

I had 3 cavities filled around second trimester that required an X-ray. They wanted a note from my midwife, and she approved. Just no X-rays much lower than your collar bone, and try to limit them as much a possible.
