Induction & No Epdiural?

Question

I have to be induced Tomorrow and I wanted to try a no med birth but my doctor is having me induced. 
Has anyone been induced but still given birth with no epidural? If yes what was your experience like. I’m so nervous about it

Yes it is possible!! My third baby I wanted no pitocin and to have med free. My water broke and labor started a few hrs later but my mother freaked out about me going med free and it caused my labor to stall. So after 12 hrs past water breaking I had to start Pitocin. 
 
I bounced on a birthing ball. Used distractions and I never once asked for pain meds. I feel like it depends on your mindset. I had a made up mind and no one was going to change it for me.

Yes! I was induced all 3 times and had the epidural with the first two and it didn’t work. The last time I said no way am I even gonna try for an epidural. Made it all the way! I was so proud of myself (if I can say that)

With my 1st, I had the Pitocin started around 8 am. My dr came in to break my water around 9/930 am. Contractions were coming back to back & I wasn't sure how I was going to manage, but baby started going into distress & my dr told me we would try the vaginal birth with assistance from the vacuum, but if that didn't work quickly, it would be an emergency C-section. Thankfully after only a few pushes (& the vacuum assistance) she was born. I was in labor for a little over 3 hours from the start of the Pitocin to her birth.

It's possible. My mother is a midwife and she says almost all inductions end up asking for an epidural. The pictocin contractions are not like normal contractions. 
I tried not to have an epidural for my induction, but pictocin was kicking my ass. By 4cm I was having back to back contractions without a break. Even my anetheologist casually mentioned "gee, those are long contractions".
Although the epidural is great pain relief, you're not allowed to get out of bed and it limits your movement, and you have to get a catheter. 
For me the epidural didn't slow my labor, but I actually dialated more quickly after the epidural
You can always try without and see how you go. Let your midwife know that you want to try medication free, so they won't offer medications unless you ask for it. Let them know you'd like to try non-medical pain relief first. 
One downside of an induction it that it requires closer monitoring, and this may limit you options on non-medical pain relief. For example your monitoring devices may not be water proof so you won't be able to use the shower/bath, or the IV can make it difficult to walk around.

After being induced I progressed from 4-10 cm in 45 mins (😱) but there was no doctor ready to deliver, so they actually rushed over an anesthesiologist to give me an epidural to slow down my labor (the urge to push was SO intense, not feeling it helped me not to push before a doctor came)! 
Honestly I went all the way to right before pushing without an epidural. It was miserable, but because it was so quick, I actually think I would have rather just pushed her out and be done with it. The epidural didn't even numb me all the way, just made the urge to push less intense (and I got a double dose). The next time I'm still going to ask for one because the relief it gave was amazing (especially if I'm having a longer labor).

With my first my water broke but I was not dilating so I was technically induced. but the pain was not too bad until the end and I always said no to an epidural but ended up getting it. With my second I was fully induced if that makes sense due to high blood pressure and the pain was so much worse and I also was scared again to get it but I ended up getting it again.

Pictocin is the devil. They made my contractions so painful and back to back. My anesthesiologist had a difficult time getting my epidural done because he didnt have time in between contractions to work. I was only dialted to a 3 and miserable before it. I was throwing up I was in so much pain. An hour and half after the epidural, I was completely dialated and practicing pushing. If you're in too much pain to relax, you wont dialate.

I’ve always been told Pitocin makes the contractions super strong. That being said my water broke at 1.5 centimeters right away they put me on pitocin that was at 2:00 I was good until 5:00 when my contractions were back to back and I was only 4 centimeters I had to get some type of relief or risk being very exhausted and out of it when it was finally time to push and when the baby was here. I very glad I got the epidural it did not hurt at all. After three hours of pushing I finally had my baby. I don’t think I could’ve done it without the pain killers. I f u can do it without then do it but don’t be scared or ashamed if u can’t.

I had cervidil to get things started and I was having contractions so I told them no pitocin bc I know it makes the contractions stronger and more difficult. I would try to do it without pitocin
