Weight management whilst pregnant

Ha

Is anyone pregnant and finding they’re having a slightly easier time of weight management?

Before I got pregnant I had a god awful time of managing my weight. If I tried hard I could maintain or lose very slowly but that was it.

I’m now 15 weeks pregnant, I haven’t eaten as well by any means even though I should but fatigue made it so much effort to come home from work and have to cook (we’ve had lots of takeaways, crisps, chocolate etc) and have only gained 1lb in those 15 weeks. I struggled a bit with nausea 6 - 9 weeks but nibbling something made it easier so I can’t say I went off food really.

Now if I ate what I’ve eaten recently pre-pregnancy I’d have gained a stone if not more by now without a doubt. Normally one takeaway on a weekend could see me gain 2lb on the scales by Monday. In fact because my partner has been eating similar to me he’s gained about 12lb 🙊

Can being pregnant help ‘balance’ the hormones that make PCOS a challenge for us? Has anyone else been in this position? I’ve tried to have a look online for any papers or articles about it but there isn’t anything out there.

Whilst I’m really pleased to have only gained 1lb im going back to slimming world this week so I can get back into the swing of planning / cooking from scratch etc. I’m currently 210lb so I’m scared to gain too much weight (I’ve definitely pushed my luck so far) and I get married 18 months after I have the baby 😬

My logic is if I can eat a healthier balanced diet and still manage to lose a bit of weight without putting my baby at risk I will benefit more towards the end of my pregnancy because I’m terrified of the aches and pains to come and know being overweight will only make it harder 🙁 I’m just curious if I’ve got pregnancy to thank for my lessened struggles with PCOS
