Are your inlaws friends?

Seems more often than not, that inlaws dont care for each other all that much. My parents got lucky, their parents are very best friends :)

(the two grandpas go to Carl's Jr everyday together for breakfast to talk about carsxD)

But now that I have my SO, the love of my life, I now have inlaws, and they are not friends with my parents, and vice versa.

They both have completely different parenting techniques and outlooks on the world. And i know they will never ever get along, despite what we say as their children. Sooo fun 😒

But lets see who else is in the same boat :) anyone have any tips for everyone else to help deal with unwelcoming inlaws at the family get togethers?

My parents get along with, but aren't "friends" with my in laws.

They get along enough to get through the duration of a visit, whatever it takes to be civil  until the next time they are forced to be in each others presence.

My parents met his parents at our wedding for the first time (3 and a half years into relationship) 7 months ago, and they haven't seen each other since, vast back grounds, very different people. And I wouldn't have it the other way, could you imagine the drama?? Both parents separated, all snobby in their own ways, good lord.

My mother and mil like each other but they only talk when we're in town to visit. No one likes my father so they just tolerate him.

My husbands dad worked with my dad for 30 years so they have known each other for years so yes, they are friends. They go out for dinner/drinks almost every weekend

My family acts like I don't exist so they have not even met.

They get along really well. But I think my parents, especially my dad, could get along with anyone.

My parents aren't even in my life so no they aren't friends lol

My mil sucks as a mom and as a person.
My fil doesn't speak English very well.
My mom has met either less than 4-5 times.
My father isn't involved in my life, he sort of spectates though.
