Mobile for crib??

I was just wondering what everyone’s opinions are on having a mobile attached to the crib. I didn’t know if this was distracting for baby and they wouldn’t sleep.

If you want a mobile, put one above your changing table! I fostered one baby that would always calm down easily in her crib if her mobile was moving, though, so it was great for that, too (just a simple ikea one— nothing big or fancy). Other babies have found it too distracting. But above the changing table has been a consistent win.

We don’t have one for the crib, but her Pack n Play has one. she LOVES to lay and look at it. It keeps her occupied while I pee or do the dishes. Haha.

I didn’t get one because I’m cheap lol. My son never missed it and always slept fine. My daycare uses one at the changing table as a distraction during diaper changes though.

We got one and it was a total waste of money. Kept her entertained for a few minutes while I put away laundry but once we used the crib for sleep (not just a bassinet) it went into storage. We got a universal arch style that was much easier to take on and off and out that on her pack n play/bassinet for when I needed to lay her down and get dressed. They can cause distractions during sleep so I always took it off when I wasn’t actually using it.

I didn't buy one because I didn't want him to rely on it to fall asleep and then not be able to if we were camping or at the grandparents etc.

Both mine have the baby Einstein aquarium. My daughter would turn it on when she woke up at night and then go back to sleep. Hoping it will work well like that for my son too
