IUI - what was your experience?

Hi ladies! My husband and I have been ttc for 14 months. I am starting to consider <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a> but wanted to hear from those who have gone through the process. After selecting a doctor to perform the <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a> what's next? What should I expect?

We were lucky enough to have success with our first IUI. We made a consult which was followed by bloodwork for me and DH, a SA for DH, a sonohyst and HSG for me to make sure my tubes were open and uterus was intact. After the Dr got all our labs back, I was placed on thyroid medication, vitamin d, prenatal, and CoQ10 enzyme. DH has slight morphology (2%) as well so we were recommended medicated IUI. At the start of my cycle, I was put on clomid. They monitored my follicles with regular ultrasounds and instructed me how and when to administer the trigger shot. The procedure itself was very simple and painless. Your specialist should be able to walk you through each step, but that was the basic run down of my experience. We loved our Doctor and his staff. And after 7 years of infertility we are 20 weeks 3 days with our miracle baby. Hope it works out for you!

I just had my 3rd IUI yesterday...now currently in the 2 week wait...hopefully 3rd time’s the charm

Second IUI worked for me, currently 17 weeks! First IUI was done with femara, and I had crippling headaches. Second one they switched me to clomid, almost  no side effects. HCG trigger shot 36 hours before the IUI, then progesterone suppositories afterward. Honestly, once I switched to the clomid it all felt like no big deal, and it worked!

Going on 21 months ttc and the week will be iui #2 but i also have endo

32 months trying! We are in the pricess of the 4th IUI with unexplained infertility. If this IUI does not work, my RE recommended us considering InvoCell, rather than IVF

3 IUIs all failed. Unexplained infertility. Moved on to IVF.

IUI was super easy for us, and took a lot of the heat off of my boyfriend for “performing”. 
It made sex not fun. 
IUI worked first time for us. 
Took a high dose of letrozole, monitored follicles on scans, took the trigger, was inseminated 2 days later. Got my positive 8 days after that. (Be careful though. Trigger will vary and won’t always be out of your system by then. First time I took trigger, it took 12 days)

We selected our dr, scheduled our consult and then made a plan. The next month was testing then we started! I am currently almost 5.5 weeks from our 2nd IUI. Feel free to message me with any other direct questions!
