Natural birth stories?

I’m planning on naturally delivering my baby but I’m just SO terrified of the whole process that I don’t even know whether I could do it. 😓 I don’t mean to doubt myself but I already freak out while simply getting blood drawn, let alone birth an entire baby 😭 The reason I don’t plan on getting epidural is because I already deal with major back problems, therefore, I wouldn’t want to add yet another factor on top. Ugh, I’m so scared but so happy at the same time.

Honestly natural is the best! My first I wanted to go natural but near the end everyone was begging me to get the epidural so I gave in and got it but it didn’t kick in till after I pushed her out and after I felt so shitty and couldn’t really walk and felt just dead 
My second I didn’t have time it hurts but after I felt amazing I was able to walk around and was so alert will be doing natural again this time! You can do it mama!

I had 2 natural (not by choice). Truthfully, every labor is different. I will absolutely be getting the epidural if I can this time. Natural is definitely (for me) the worst pain I have ever experienced in my entire life and I do have a high pain tolerance. However, the recovery was super easy. I had no problems walking around afterwards. I am not sure what the recovery is like with an epidural.

It can be done!!! My first was a natural birth and it was AMAZING. Not going to lie and say it was pain free, but the easy recovery was 100% worth it and I felt awesome afterwards being able to get up and walk. Find and hire a local Doula that you connect with and trust. Take her birth classes. My fear of the epidural was much greater than my fear of birth. I knew God made my body to be able to handle birth. Remember there are lots of alternatives to the epidural for pain relief and your doula will absolutely help you with that in the heat of the moment. For me it was a hot shower during labor and I did end up getting IV pain meds toward the end to push. Oh and by the way I was induced with Pitocin. Good luck💖💖

I’ve had the epidural twice and it was amazing but with my third  my body rejected it. We don’t know why. It didn’t work at all. I obviously did it but it was hard bc I was vomiting due to the pain, the doctors were at one point telling me I had to push, I was crying and vomiting and was like I can’t, I can’t do it. But I did it, I pushed through the pain while the nurse help my vomit bag for me. Lol it was such a bad experience for me that I plan on getting the epidural earlier this time. But everyone is different you can always try to do it natural and  change your mind during, and that’s okay. It’s all about what you want.

I also recommend reading Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth - it’s very powerful and reassuring. There’s also a plan called “Hypnobabies” I’ve heard good things about, but didn’t use. I found practicing yoga, mediating and running during pregnancy really helped me mentally prepare for the mind-game that comes with a natural labor. Whatever you can do in advance to help learn how to take control of your mind and body, the better! You can totally do it!

I am pregnant with my first and hope for a natural birth too. I read so many of the birth stories on here not going as planned so I am hoping all will be well baby will be ok I can labor in the tub and have a natural birth.

Not all hospitals offer it but nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is something that can help with pain during childbirth.

Girl good luck. I’m trying for non-medicated this time around too. I tried with my son but had to be induced and the pain was unreal even with an epidural. I’m hoping to avoid all that this time.
