Nexplanon opinions?

Question

My periods have always been damn near unbearable so my doctor suggested birth control. (She said that an implant would probably be best) 
I have some questions for anyone who’s had it or knows someone else who has.
Did you still get your period?
Cramps?
Weight change?
Mood change?
Any pain?
Spotting?
Other side affects?
Did you stick with it or try another method and why?

personally, i really enjoy my nexplanon. i get my period every 4 months and it only lasts about a week. the pain isn’t too bad but it really depends on your pain tolerance and how your periods are. i decided to get it because the pill made me really nauseous and i have a really hard time taking pills no matter the size. it’s very effective and i don’t really have any complaints. the only thing that sucks is sometimes it gets itchy like a bug bite but other than that i’m really grateful for the implant.

i’ve had it in since december and my period has gotten so light!!! i’ve only had mild mood swings but other than that it works super well. your period does get a little irregular at first and it’s super light so i suggest buying panty liners if you don’t have them already.

I love mine. I haven’t had a period since i got it out in almost a year ago. Haven’t had any crazy side effects. I would recommend it. I know a lot of people don’t like it but everybody is different.

I suggest a hormonal iud for heavy painful periods. Depending on the one you get, your period will either get much lighter or go away completely. Discuss it with your doctor.

I bled everyday for 2 years and it would only stop for a few days if my partner finished in me. I never used to have cramps, now I have really bad cramps. For around a year I would have mood swings and would get super angry with my partner for ANYTHING. It killed my appetite for the first year and in turn I lost like 20 lbs. Now after almost 3 years, I haven’t bled in like 7 months but I do get cramping still.

i hate my nexplanon. i bled for 4 months straight after i first got it, which can happen and it wasn’t the biggest deal. but i struggle with depression & anxiety and have definitely noticed that they are both extremely worse since getting the implant. i’m getting it out soon and won’t ever get it again. buuut like they tell you, everyone will react differently to it

I hated nexplanon. I got it put in after my second miscarriage as I wasn’t ready to get pregnant again anytime soon. That was in August 2017, I spotted for about two weeks after which was fine no big deal. Then didn’t get a period until December that lasted all the way until March. And it was heavy bleeding. Finally that ended and I didn’t get another period until August 2018 that lasted for a bout 5 weeks. In October 2018 I went to discuss another form of birth control at my regular annual exam. Turned out I was pregnant and had to have it removed immediately. Despite the irregular periods and the fact it didn’t work, I had so many migraines and gained 15 pounds from August when I had it put in to September a month later. And I was working out regularly at the gym and on a strict meal plan. I couldn’t seem to lose the weight and now I can’t either as I’m pregnant lol. I don’t recommend it but everyone reacts differently
