Birth control warning pulmonary embolism

Research is key to birth control. For the last couple of months I have been dealing with a health issue caused from the birth control I was using. I was on the patch for 6 months but had to be taken off of it because it was too hormonal for my body. I woke up one morning with a sharp pain in my chest and I couldn't breathe without it hurting. I was rushed to hospital where I was diagnosed.

The patch caused me to have pulmonary embolism which is a blood clot in your lungs. I had two fairly significantly sized embolisms and had to stay in the hospital for a while. At the hospital I was given blood thinning injections and was doing daily tests. Not fun at all. I was sent home but I was okn blood thinners for three months afterwards. I just finished my last pack of thinners this week! Which is great because the periods I got with them were so awful (lasted 10 days and was like a bloody waterfall)

30 % of patients have pain after their pulmonary embolism, I am one of them unfortunately. But it was a really tough past couple of months. So do your research, find out if anyone in your family has had to take blood thinners previously and look at all your options for birth control.
