What happens if you have a scheduled c section and go into labor?

I have a scheduled c section for 39 weeks, by choice because I had a difficult delivery/recovery with my first. If I go into labor before 39 weeks...what happens? Will they give me an emergency c section or just let me deliver vaginally?

They will probably still give you a C-Section though they’ll have plenty of time to get ready so it won’t really be a proper ‘emergency’ one, it’ll be as calm as it can be. They will probably let you labour for a while as there are lots of health benefots to labouring for as long as possible for both the mother and baby so it’s wise to try to do some (for that reason I’d have a section when you go into labour, not before if you don’t actually need one for a clinical reason but that’s up to you) :) x

Same thing happened to me . My c-section was supposed to be at 39+4 weeks but I went into labor at 39 weeks. I still had a c-section but it wasn’t emergency 🤷🏼‍♀️ it was scheduled just few days earlier.
