“Accepted domestic violence is a female privilege”

su

Recently there was a post discussing the idea of anger being a male privilege, and in the comments I remembered seeing the idea brought up that females are more then often allowed to be violent or abusive to male partners. There is cheers when a women throws her shitty exes belongings on the curb, and its an act of defense when a women slaps a man who yells at her, its harmless when a women screams at her partner, and normal when a mans partner wont allow him to go certain places or see certain people. On the other hand if a man does it, its out of line, its an attack, its threatening, and its controlling.

Why is there a double standard in your opinion? Do you agree that accepted domestic violence and is a female privilege?

“1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc”

“1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner (e.g. slapping, shoving, pushing).”

“1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.”
