IUD and fibroids

So I’ve had the IUD in since October of last year. I’ve still been having full blown periods which have extended before i got on it. Before the IUD, i would bleed heavily for 3 days and I’ll be done. But when i got the mirena put in, it’s painful and i bleed anywhere between 5-6 days. I recently found out i have fibroids and the dr stated that my periods shouldn’t be like that and that it could be the fibroids. I already have infertility issues so what I’m really wondering is, is it pointless to have this thing in? Lol..
